The 68th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) has been historic in many regards - the first ever vote on all CND resolutions in decades, a reshuffling of alliances among Member States following the drastic shifts in US positions, and the adoption of a resolution establishing an independent panel to rethink the international drug control regime. This webinar is an opportunity to reflect on this CND session - and discuss the implications for the future of UN drug policy.

  • Ambassador Laura Gil, Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations (Vienna)
  • Gloria Lai, International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC)
  • Anton Basenko, International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD)
  • Zaved Mahmood, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)
  • Charity Monareng, SSDP international, South Africa
