Equis Justicia para las Mujeres is a feminist organization that works to create conditions for women to exercise their human rights in conditions of equality and free from discrimination, through promoting and implementing access to justice strategies, influencing public policies and fostering the creation of leaderships that can instigate social change. Through research, capacity-building and advocacy strategies, EQUIS seeks to promote a gender perspective in the work of justice administrations institutions and transform current institutional response to violations of women’s human rights. EQUIS is part of the Articulación Regional Feminista, a Latin American Alliance of seven feminist organizations from Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia; an active member of the worldwide network RED-Desc; and a member of the Civil Society Advisory Group of UN Women in Mexico.
