British Columbian municipalities support marijuana law reform

At this year’s annual Union of British Columbian Municipalities convention on September 26th passed a resolution calling on the government to decriminalize marijuana and research its regulation and taxation. The motion supports the decriminalization of marijuana and pushes higher levels of government to research legalization and taxation. Estimates of the value of the underground economy In B.C. usually settle somewhere between 6 and 7 billion dollars and 44.3% of B.C. residents have used marijuana, with 46% of 16-18 year olds trying marijuana at least once.
